Overview
Mackay State Fish Hatchery is one of the state's oldest hatcheries, having opened in 1925. Using water from Artesian springs, the hatchery raises 3 million fish annually for distribution statewide. Species include rainbow and cutthroat trout, kokanee salmon, and arctic grayling. A diversion pond below the hatchery is popular for youth fishing. Tours can be arranged.
