RVers love Idaho! Located halfway between the Equator and the North Pole on the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains, Idaho is one of America's most rural states. Idaho covers 83,557 square miles, 40% covered with trees, making it the most heavily forested of the Rocky Mountain States. 63% of Idaho is public land managed by the federal government. Idaho has more than 2,000 lakes, 239,000 acres of reservoirs, and 16,000 miles of streams.
